Donna Ames, mezzo soprano, has been a frequent guest artist with the Arizona Opera, Opera Festival of New Jersey, Chautauqua Opera, Riverside Opera, Opera Southwest, Portland Opera Repertoire Theater, and Marin Opera. Critically acclaimed roles have been Carmen, Suzuki, Siebel, Hänsel, Perziosilla, Pauline, Bertha, and Mallika.
Honored by The Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions as both a first and second place winner on the district and regional levels, she also received first and second prizes from The San Francisco Opera auditions at state and regional levels.
Miss Ames was recently named as a recipient of the William Matheus Sullivan Foundation Role Preparation Grant, and was a previous award winner of The Liederkranz Foundation and the Arizona Community Foundation . She has also appeared with the Finnish Boys Choir, The Tucson Symphony, The Billings Symphony, The Southern Arizona Symphony, the Phoenix Bach and Madrigal Society, and the Boston Civic Orchestra singing such works as Bach's B Minor Mass, Elijah, and Vaughan Williams' Serenade to Music
