A lifelong musician and tenor, Carl Kinkel has been the Board Chair for the Assabet Valley Mastersingers for the past several years. He is also the Director of Musical Arts and Worship for the Church of the Nativity in Northborough and chairs the Northborough Cultural Council. He teaches voice and piano and has been judge on several competition panels.
Mr. Kinkel has performed solo works with AVM, including Missa Criolla by
Ariel Ramirez; Bach’s St. John Passion; and Handel’s Messiah. He also sings and contributes solos with the Assabet Valley Chambersingers.
Mr. Kinkel studied under Ira Schantz, Texas Christian University; Judith DeRosa, New York City Opera; and the late Richard Cassily, Boston University. He performed and advanced in competition with the Metropolitan Opera, Bel Canto, San Francisco Opera, Santa Fe Opera, and Opera Colorado and was tenor soloist for Haydn’s Creation with the Colorado Symphony, in addition to many solo performances with the Denver Chamber Chorus.
