Canadian Soprano Christine Petkus has happily called Massachusetts home for the past ten years. Favorite roles include Nella and Lauretta in Gianni Schicchi (Greater Worcester Opera and Opera del West, respectively); Rosalinda (cover) in Die Fledermaus (Worcester Opera Works); and Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni (University of Ottawa).
Equally at home on the concert stage, Ms. Petkus has been the featured soloist in such works as Faure’sRequiem; Syzmanowski’s Stabat Mater; Mozart’s Grand Mass in C Minor; Handel’s Messiah; and Vivaldi’sGloria.
Upcoming engagements include a turn as First Lady in Mozart’s Magic Flute with Maestro Russell Killough-Miller; Mother in Humperdinck’s Hansel and Gretel with Mass Theatrica; and a solo recital this fall for the Resonanz Foundation.
Ms. Petkus holds a Masters in Music from the New England Conservatory and is currently a student of Ms. Heidi Skok (Metropolitan Opera).
