Singaporean tenor, Leslie Tay, was praised for being the “standout of the afternoon, with a clear crisp voice and easy graceful movement” as Edwin in Trial by Jury with Hubbard Hall Opera Theater. He made his Carnegie Hall, Weill Hall debut as Guillot in Manonwith New York Lyric Opera. Other roles performed include Don Ramiro in La Cenerentola, Nemorino in L’elisir d’amore and Goro in Madama Butterfly with Dicapo Opera; Idreno in Semiramide, Don Ottavio in Don Giovanni and Oronte in Alcina with New York Opera Forum; Gastone in La traviata, Isacco in La gazza ladra and Monostatos in The Magic Flute with Bronx Opera; The Fairy Queen with dell’Arte Opera Ensemble; Nadir in Les pecheurs de perles with Sing Through Central; Tanzmeister in Ariadne auf Naxos and Don Basilio in The Marriage of Figaro with Brooklyn Repertory Opera; Flute in A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Bobyl Bakula in Rimsky-Korsakov’s The Snow Maiden in Russian with Lowell House Opera, Harvard. He has also sung with the Boston Lyric Opera Chorus, American Opera Projects, Center for Contemporary Opera, Chelsea Opera, Amore Opera, Boston Opera Collaborative, Juventas New Music Ensemble and Singapore Lyric Opera. He has degrees from Manhattan School of Music and Boston Conservatory and was a Young Artist in Lorin Maazel’s 2011 Castleton Festival. He is presently a member of the Tanglewood Festival Chorus and Opera on Tap (NYC).
