Soprano Roberta Anderson is recognized as one of Boston’s most versatile and accomplished performers. Praised for her “sweet tone” and ” exquisitely refined musicianship”, she has appeared as soloist with many of the area’s finest musical organizations, including the Handel and Haydn Society, Boston Baroque, Emmanuel Music, Boston Early Music Festival, Boston Camerata, and the Aston Magna Festival. She has toured extensively throughout the United States, Europe and Canada.
Recent performances include the Monteverdi Vespers of 1610 with the Newton Choral Society and Dedham Choral Society, Bach’s Christmas Oratorio with the Handel Society of Dartmouth College, cantatas of Charpentier with Musicians of the Old Post Road, Harbison’s Moments of Vision and a recital of Schumann lieder for Emmanuel Music, Monteverdi’s Orfeo and 18th century Spanish music with Aston Magna, and Carissimi’s Jepthe with the Back Bay Chorale.
Ms. Anderson may be heard on numerous recordings, including Bach Cantata 75 and Harbison Recordarewith Emmanuel Music on Koch International, the Jesuit Operas with Ensemble Abendmusik on Dorian, and Harbison The Flight into Egypt with Cantata Singers on the New World label.
