Wendy Damoulakis is a choral director, singer, music educator and piano teacher, experienced equally across these roles. She taught elementary music in Grafton, Littleton and Medway for many years, retiring in 2012. Her piano studio, run out of her home, has seen generations of students learn that playing piano is a gateway to excellence in musicianship and a lifetime of music learning. An experienced choral director, she has directed over 15 choral groups of all ages, and has been the director of Westborough’s Hundredth Town Chorus for more than 32 years. She also helped to found the Summer Theatre Workshop run by the Westborough Players Club, and was one of the original members of the Assabet Valley Mastersingers, as well as singing with John Oliver’s Framingham Chorale and Master Singers of Lexington.
A founding member of Shir Joy Chorus, she helped to conceptually form the group, and has been an active board member as well as singer/soloist. She is happy to extend that love of Shir Joy into being its director for the coming season. As a choral singer and director, she believes that making music together leads to a rich and rewarding life, better health and a lifetime of good memories, friends and satisfaction.
