The November concert features Morten Lauridsen’s “Lux Aeterna,” which draws its texts from several Latin sources, including the Requiem Mass, with each movement containing a reference to “light.” This intimate and serene work centers on a universal symbol of hope, reassurance, goodness, and illumination. The program concludes with Francis Poulenc’s Gloria, a brilliant, joyful, and life-affirming masterpiece.
